We're based at 861 Baltimore Blvd in Westminster, and most of our calls stay close to home. If you're outside that ring, call anyway - distance alone doesn't rule a job out, but it can affect how fast we can get to you on a same-day basis. When you request a quote, tell us your town so we can route the closest available truck instead of guessing at drive time.
We don't cover every zip code in the state, and we won't pretend to. If you're well past Emmitsburg or New Market, we'll tell you straight instead of taking the job and running late.
What Happens After You Call
A phone quote on a garage door is a guess dressed up as a number. What actually happens: you call or send a request, we ask what the door is doing (won't open, off track, loud on the way down, opener runs but nothing moves), and we ask the door's size and whether it's one piece or sectional. That gets us close enough to book the visit, not close enough to hand you a final price.
Once we're at the house, we open the panel, check the spring size and cable condition, run the opener through a cycle, and look at the track and rollers for wear. That's when the number firms up. Torsion springs, in particular, come in different wire sizes and wind directions - get that wrong on the phone and the quote is wrong on the invoice. We'd rather take the extra ten minutes on-site than surprise you later.

We can give you a range once you describe the problem, but not a final number. Spring size, wire gauge, and cable condition all affect the price and none of those are visible until we're standing in front of the door. We'll always confirm the number on-site before we start work.

Why does an old torsion spring cost more to fix in winter?
Cold steel is stiffer and more likely to snap under load, and older springs in this area's 1980s-90s housing stock are often past their rated cycle count already. Replacement is usually the same job year-round, but winter calls tend to come in bunched, which affects how soon we can get a truck out.
What can't you quote without seeing the door?
Bent track, a door off its rollers, or anything with impact damage. Those jobs vary too much house to house to price by phone description alone. We'll look at the hardware, check for secondary damage, and give you a firm number on-site.
